An Innovative Message Is Key
Recently on p-interest we spotted a water bottle that read “There’s a good chance this is Vodka.® ” It made us smile and got the attention of many others, who also found it amusing.
Unless you are a Vodka manufacturer this likely isn’t the message that you are trying to spread. However, it makes the point we often share with our clients, “The product selection is only half of the puzzle of a successful promotional product campaign.” The other half is the message. If your message or the artwork is such that it grabs the recipients attention in some cases the actual product becomes secondary. The person that receives the bottle that says “there is a good chance this is Vodka” and finds it humorous or innovative will carry that water bottle everywhere, providing a lot of exposure for your brand at a very minimal cost. People will also remember this product and in turn your brand.
This is also the perfect opportunity to create a collection of products. Build your target markets interest with a creative message and keep their interest by gradually releasing products that build upon this message or create a collection. This makes the end user want the “full set.” A perfect example is a set of 4 patio glasses released one at a time. Consider the success of McDonalds Treat of the Week campaign. Children beg to go back so that they can complete their sets.
While it is important to stay on top of new products and trends, also consider adding a creative tagline to essential promotional products (mugs, pens, water bottles) that are used daily, in addition to your corporate logo.
Consider an innovative message when working with us to select your next promotional product.
