Rethinking How You Do Everything?

If you are like us, you are currently rethinking how you do everything.

How to put on a mask.

How to take off a mask.

When do you need a mask?

Do you wear gloves?

How do you pay for something? Keypad? Do you want to touch it!?

The reality is: no one has all the answers and you’re not alone. We are all working through this together.

That’s why I came up with my own little kit that has everything I may need for an adventure to the gas station or grocery store or wherever I need to venture out, including the office. This little kit has helped me simplify my outings, processes and I feel safer and with a clearer mind.

If you have dealt with Innovatex in the past, you know we do our homework when it comes to product testing – take a look at my Covid-19 Kit.

1.       Storage Bag of Choice

The first thing you need is a storage bag. My bag of choice is the Rume bag (pictured above).  I like it because it’s small, compact, washable and has numerous zippered pockets to keep things separated.  I keep my mask in one pocket so that I’m not cross contaminating it, a hand sanitizer in another, gloves and a stylus in the other pockets.

2.       Masks Are Now Recommended

There are so.many.masks out on the market right now; as a promotional product distributor we see hundreds of offerings each day.  We do not offer medical grade masks, but our favourite, reusable personal use mask is made of cotton and produced in Canada.

Many brands have purchased this mask for retail and sold out quickly.  We find they are comfortable to wear, easily washable and include a polyester filter pocket that allows you to insert a filter if you wish.  There is also an adjustable nose to conform to the contours of your face. These masks are actually sized for comfort, and offer an interesting way to brand with a woven label versus a logo imprint.

3.       Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer remains in high demand, but pay attention to what you’re receiving. Health Canada is currently allowing access to products that may not fully meet regulatory requirements.

4.       Gloves

Single-use gloves are handy, but  they shouldn’t be worn to the grocery store, for example, where you can cross-contaminate. Be sure you have somewhere to dispose of them safely as well, such as a designated pocket in the Rume bag, until you have access to a garbage can.

5.       Stylus or Safe Key

Think about how many buttons you touch in the world: elevators, keypads, and payment machines. Your mobile tap function is helpful for contactless transactions, but sometimes, you just can’t tap.

A trusty pen with a stylus helps, as does the new Safe Key.  There are many versions of this popping up, but we like this copper one; copper is known for its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. This tool can also help to open doors and pull levers.  The stylus end is optional.

6.       Personalization

Beyond the baggie tool kit, think back to grade school or heading to camp, where you had personalized labels on everything.  Personalization to identify personal gear is important right now to avoid unintentional sharing. It’s available on many products. The most popular product to personalize right now is definitely drinkware.

Suggestions:

I reached out to our client who was deemed essential and asked them what has made a difference to their employees during this time.  They generously shared that their employees really appreciate the preventive measures the company is taking, including:

  • Disinfecting and cleaning their warehouse every 3-4 hours
  • No overlapping shifts
  • Ensuring employees get 6 feet space and use proper PPE (face mask and gloves)
  • Continuous communication so that their employees know the steps being taken to safeguard them;

They also offer a dinner-to-go-program – an initiative to help local vendors and support employees. Employees are able to pick up dinner for 4 twice each week from surrounding restaurants, and the company graciously picks up the tab.

I absolutely love this concept. Taking care of each other makes us stronger in the long run. Do you have any tips or tricks?  We would love to hear them.

Let us help you keep your valued employees and connections safe.
